It Takes a Village

This year’s Eagle Run reminded us of something powerful: it truly takes a village to lift up a school community. What happened on our campus was more than a fundraiser - it was a celebration of partnership, generosity, and the spirit that makes Andrew Jackson Elementary so special.

We are incredibly grateful to the 45 local businesses who stepped forward to support our school. Whether through sponsorship, in-kind donations, services, or volunteering, each one helped create an event that our students will remember for years to come. Their commitment to education and community makes a real impact, and we are honored to have them as part of our Eagle family.

But our village doesn’t end there.

To our parents and families: thank you for showing up, cheering loudly, donating generously, and trusting us with big ideas. Your enthusiasm fuels this event year after year.

To our volunteers: you gave your time, sweat, energy, and smiles. You set up tents, guided students, kept stations running smoothly, and made the day feel seamless. We could not do this without your willingness to jump in wherever needed.

To our PTO Board: thank you for the weeks and months of planning, organizing, emailing, calling, printing, scheduling, budgeting, and problem-solving. Your dedication is the heartbeat of Eagle Run.

To our teachers and staff: thank you for your flexibility, support, and unwavering belief in our students. You encourage them to do their best not only in the classroom but also on days like this, when they get to shine in new ways.

To our administrators: thank you for championing our vision, supporting our logistics, and guiding our school with wisdom and care. Your leadership helps make events like Eagle Run possible.

And to our students: you are the reason we do this. Your joy, determination, teamwork, and giant smiles carried this event from start to finish. You showed up ready to run, to encourage your classmates, and to have fun — and you reminded all of us why community matters so much.

When all these pieces come together - businesses, families, staff, volunteers, and kids -something beautiful happens. We see what it truly means when people say, “It takes a village.” Eagle Run is more than a fundraiser; it is a reflection of who we are as a school community: united, generous, joyful, and strong.

Thank you to every single person and partner who played a role in making this year’s Eagle Run a tremendous success. Because of you, our students soar a little higher.

Together, we proved once again that it takes a village… and what an incredible village we have.
